About the position

The Sr. Supervisor, IT Audit role is responsible for providing independent assurance to the Board Audit & Board Risk Committees and senior management regarding the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes within the IT Risk space. This position involves evaluating compliance with laws and regulations, assessing the reliability of financial and operational information, and ensuring asset integrity. The role also includes supervising audit staff, conducting audits, and communicating findings to management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a solid understanding of the business.
  • Examine business records and collect information, exercising independent judgment in identifying issues and assessing risk.
  • Formulate findings and present results to the Audit Manager.
  • Execute control design and operating effectiveness testing as part of internal audit reviews.
  • Conduct post-audit follow-up to appraise adequacy of corrective actions taken to address audit recommendations.
  • Document audit testing and follow-up tasks in accordance with relevant audit standards.
  • Provide consistent quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the planning of audit reviews and design test steps and audit procedures.
  • Supervise and coach audit staff during internal audit reviews.
  • Prepare draft recommendations to be presented to the Audit Manager.
  • Assist the Audit Manager in assigning staff to complete specific audit tests and procedures.
  • Ensure fieldwork is completed within the budgeted timeframe.
  • Communicate findings to business management and assist the Audit Manager in discussing recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, Technology discipline, or equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of audit experience or 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid diplomatic skills for conflict resolution.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
