About the position

The Supply Chain Manager at AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the allocation of infrastructure components across multiple manufacturers and suppliers. This role involves performing forecasting, demand analysis, and material management to ensure the efficient operation of AWS's global infrastructure. The manager will collaborate with various teams to drive automation and develop analytical tools to monitor supply chain health and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform forecasting, demand analysis, material/inventory management, and manage supply buffers
  • Understand manufacturing processes to verify supply commitments and reduce cycle times
  • Work with component suppliers and server manufacturers to analyze, reconcile allocation and monitor changes and cancellations
  • Participate in requirements gathering
  • Understand the supply chain network and work with various analytics and software development teams, driving automation
  • Develop analytical tools and dashboards to track metrics, monitor SLAs, and report findings
  • Produce written recommendations and insights to inform key stakeholders of supply chain health and help shape solution design
  • Forecast generation and demand planning
  • Allocations of AWS material from inventory hubs to suppliers
  • Requirement and Specification reviews with Hardware Engineering
  • Ocean, air, and ground transportation planning
  • Supply heatmap generation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or an advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
  • 6+ years of work experience in supply chain, planning, procurement, manufacturing or 4+ years with an advanced degree
  • 3+ years of experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in program, project, or product management, or leading an implementation of a product

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or advanced degree in engineering, supply chain or other quantitative disciplines
  • Experience in data centers, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company
  • Global Supply Chain Experience
  • Fluent in multiple languages preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant supply chain experience
  • Understanding of the implications of different operational choices to guide teams and leadership to best solutions for the organization
  • Analytical skills with a high degree of proficiency in data mining
  • Ability to think big and drive innovation throughout the supply chain
  • Leadership and coaching skills
  • Experience creating an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business
