About the position
The Sr. Supply Technician at Houston Methodist is responsible for managing physical inventory tasks within Supply Chain Management. This includes receiving, storing, distributing, and replenishing supplies and equipment throughout the hospital campus. The role emphasizes promoting a clinically-integrated Supply Chain and involves tasks such as delivering supply orders, stocking, checking expiration dates, and cleaning clinical equipment. The technician will also assist with customer inquiries and perform financial transactions, requiring a solid understanding of inventory management systems and hospital processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical inventory-related tasks including receiving, storage, distribution, and replenishment of supplies and equipment.
- Deliver supply and equipment orders, stock supplies, and check expiration dates.
- Assist in customer inquiries and perform financial transactions in various hospital systems.
- Maintain and execute changes for supply and equipment inventory levels to prevent stock-outs or over-stock situations.
- Inspect and audit supply and equipment deliveries based on department standards and procedures.
- Troubleshoot concerns in inventory management systems and assist with non-conforming products.
- Generate and communicate new ideas to improve department services and participate in special projects.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Two years of previous experience in a customer service role or in Healthcare, Supply Chain, or Materials Management.
- Demonstrated skills and competencies necessary to perform the assigned job safely.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers.

- Knowledge of PPE and process requirements for Sterile Supply helpful.
