Sr Supply Chain Tech

About the position

The Sr. Supply Chain Technician at Houston Methodist is responsible for managing physical inventory tasks within Supply Chain Management. This includes receiving, storing, distributing, and replenishing supplies and equipment throughout the hospital. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to work independently while ensuring that inventory levels are maintained and that supplies are delivered efficiently to meet clinical needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical inventory-related tasks including receiving, storage, distribution, and replenishment of supplies and equipment.
• Deliver supply and equipment orders, stock supplies, and check expiration dates.
• Assist in customer inquiries and perform financial transactions in various hospital systems.
• Facilitate professional communication and mentor team members in effective communication skills.
• Respond to supply and equipment needs by adjusting inventory levels and efficiently delivering supplies to assigned units.
• Inspect and audit supply and equipment deliveries based on department standards and procedures.
• Input all Supply Chain transactions accurately within tracking systems and manage time effectively.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent education (GED or partial/full post-secondary education).
• Two years of previous experience in a customer service role or in Healthcare, Supply Chain, or Materials Management.
• Demonstrated skills and competencies necessary to perform the assigned job safely.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of PPE and process requirements for Sterile Supply is helpful.
• Critical thinking skills.
