About the position

The Senior Sustainability Reporting Analyst at Fifth Third Bank will lead the development and execution of the bank's sustainability reporting initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the Chief Sustainability Officer and various internal stakeholders to implement sustainability goals, manage risks, and identify opportunities within the bank's operations, lending, and investment portfolios. The position requires proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as strong stakeholder relationship management to drive sustainability efforts and enhance the bank's ESG performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the setting, implementing, and achieving of the company's sustainability goals.
• Support sustainability disclosures in the Sustainability and TCFD reports, sustainability surveys, and requests from investors and sustainability ratings organizations.
• Conduct research and analysis to enhance the bank's management of sustainability-related risks and identify new business opportunities.
• Develop reporting packages for internal and external reporting, providing analytics for better decision making.
• Lead communications to educate and activate sustainability leadership achievements and opportunities.
• Execute reporting and analytics, analyzing data to make proactive recommendations to enhance sustainability and ESG performance.
• Document, evaluate, and improve the design of reports and processes to ensure analytical tools evolve with business changes.
• Develop trend analyses and quantitative reports to determine business trends.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base on existing and emerging sustainability issues to assist stakeholders in improving ESG performance.
• Develop recommendations and action plans to support growth and mitigate observed risks.
• Perform Business Intelligence tasks, including key performance indicators and executive dashboards.
• Lead junior level staff as needed.
• Develop analytical models to identify patterns in data.
• Investigate and document unusual items, along with monthly ad-hoc reports and data analysis.
• Perform maintenance on existing schedules and reports for changes to information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; preferred fields include business administration, economics, engineering, public policy, or sustainability; Master's degree is preferred.
• 5-7 years of related reporting or sustainability experience.
• Exceptional ability to review, analyze, and present conclusions from complex qualitative and quantitative datasets.
• Comprehensive understanding of sustainability metrics and reporting standards, with experience in sustainability writing and reporting.
• Knowledge and experience with greenhouse gas accounting, CDP, TCFD, GRI, SASB, SBTi preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation using formulas, pivot tables, macros, and modeling.
• Superb written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information succinctly and visually in PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work across departments for mutually beneficial results.
• Exceptional analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize information into actionable insights.
• Ability to deliver results in a highly matrixed and changing environment.
