About the position

The Senior Systems Programmer Analyst for Revenue Cycle at Temple University Health System (TUHS) plays a critical role in the implementation, development, and maintenance of Revenue Cycle applications. This position requires coordination with various departments, vendors, and external resources to ensure successful project management from inception to completion. The analyst will manage projects through all phases, including request gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, training, implementation, and follow-up. Utilizing standard system life cycle methodologies, the analyst will coordinate and schedule staff, communicate effectively with users, and translate their requirements into detailed specifications. Collaboration with technical and operations personnel is essential to ensure that user departments have established and maintained effective procedures related to computer systems. In addition to project management, the Senior Systems Programmer Analyst will monitor the appropriate use of systems in accordance with documented procedures, ensuring that user departments have developed effective backup and recovery plans for system downtime. The role also involves monitoring overall system utilization and security, making it vital for the analyst to stay informed about best practices in system management and user support. This position is integral to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the Revenue Cycle applications, which are crucial for the financial health of the organization and the quality of care provided to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with departments, vendors, and external resources for the implementation and maintenance of Revenue Cycle applications.
  • Manage projects from request through design, coding, testing, documentation, training, implementation, and follow-up.
  • Utilize standard system life cycle methodology in implementing projects and coordinating staff.
  • Communicate with users to interpret their requirements into specifications.
  • Work with technical and operations personnel to ensure effective system use.
  • Establish and maintain user departmental procedures related to computer systems.
  • Monitor appropriate use of the system in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Ensure user departments have developed effective backup and recovery plans for system downtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Required).
  • 4 years of experience with computer system application development and implementation (Required).
  • 4 years of experience working in a hospital environment (Required).
  • 4 years of experience with health system administrative and clinical applications including SMS Invision, Patient Management, Enterprise Access Directory, Patient Billing and Accounting, and Windows NT (Preferred).
  • 4 years of experience with large, complex implementations and related projects (Preferred).
