About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in Information Assurance (IA) system design, focusing on the evaluation of requirements generation, allocation, and tracking throughout the development cycle to ensure security certification supportability. This position involves leading technology studies and implementing solutions to enhance existing systems while addressing customer needs and aligning them with commercially available IT products.

Responsibilities

• Identify and fix problems within existing systems.
• Design and implement new systems and enhance existing systems.
• Participate in analysis, design, and construction of next-generation IT systems.
• Understand customer needs and create requirements for the development team.

Requirements

• 9+ years of related experience in systems engineering.
• Experience as a system engineer on one or more IT platforms.
• Solid technical background with a focus on IT systems.
• Familiarity with telecommunications (TCP/IP, OIS/CMIP/X25), operating systems (Windows, UNIX, LINUX), and database/DBMS (Oracle, Access, Sybase).
• Must have one of the following DoD approved certifications: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, or GCED.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with ITIL and SEI/CMM is desirable.
