About the position

The Sr. System Integration & Validation Engineer at Tesla Energy plays a crucial role in integrating software, hardware, and mechanical designs to support the company's mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy. This position focuses on the automation platform design for Tesla's next-generation industrial energy storage systems, ensuring effective collaboration and innovation in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform automation platform design for hardware and firmware integration of next generation Tesla industrial energy storage systems
• Create and execute new hardware and firmware feature test plan with automation sequence and detailed post analysis
• Develop Python code and validate embedded firmware in C, C++
• Identify, escalate, and resolve issues with hardware and firmware during system bring up, performance, and safety tests
• Use dashboard and Jenkins job to monitor test station and execute automation action to maintain the health of the test station

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with software automation development in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering components
• Exceptional analytical problem solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems
• Effective communicator with excellent attention to detail
• Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability
• Fluent with Python, embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and Git
• Familiar with Linux, CI/CD, REST API, Jenkins, Docker
• Experience working with database and dashboarding (SQL, InfluxDB, Grafana)
• Experience validating automation on actual hardware platform is preferred
