About the position

The Sr. Systems Administrator/Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and administering Windows servers, Active Directory, VMware, and backup solutions in a mixed environment. This role involves supporting users on both PC and MAC systems, ensuring system integrity, and performing regular maintenance and monitoring tasks to maintain operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and administer Windows 2012/2008 servers and Active Directory services.
• Support users in a mixed environment of Windows, Linux, and Apple systems.
• Install and configure servers and systems according to project and operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Perform daily system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware and server resources.
• Conduct regular security monitoring to identify possible intrusions.
• Manage daily backup operations and ensure successful data backups.
• Create, change, and delete user accounts as requested.
• Provide Tier III support and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and maintain operational procedures.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in system administration.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing MS Active Directory in a multi-domain environment.
• Proficient in Windows 2012/2008 servers and advanced knowledge of Group Policies.
• Experience with Office365 and Google G Suites.
• Familiarity with VMware and Hyper-V platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex problems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
• Strong customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Background with Linux OS family (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Experience with Veeam backup, Veritas Backup Exec, and NetBackup Software.
• Familiarity with SAN, NetApp, Dell, and/or EMC storage solutions.
• Experience with Symantec AV Enterprise/Corporate Edition or equivalent.
• Knowledge of SSO and 2 Factor Authentication (Centrify or Okta).
• Familiarity with various server vendors (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Moderate knowledge in networking.
