Sr. Systems Development Engineer, ADC Analytics

About the position

Amazon Web Service is building some of the largest distributed systems in the world, and offering them to our peculiar Dedicated Cloud customers. Amazon's database offerings like Athena, OpenSearch, Elastic Map Reduce, Glue, QuickSight, LakeFormation, and Redshift are massively scaled services that make up a critical piece of the internet today. This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Responsibilities

• Deep experience working with Linux, preferably in a large scale, distributed environment.
• Understand networking technology and how servers and networks inter-relate.
• Participate in deep-dive troubleshooting and conduct technical post-mortem discussions to identify the root cause of complex issues.
• Build tools in Java or solve complex system problems in Python.
• Use technology to solve problems and improve processes to allow for work on a massive scale.

Requirements

• Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
• 3+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 4+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
