The Sr Systems Engineer I - Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for planning, installing, configuring, and testing monitoring, observability, and automation solutions for the enterprise. This role ensures that tools, processes, and technical solutions are tailored to maximize functionality. The engineer prepares and maintains operational documentation and standards while leading the development of automation and monitoring solutions across various technology components, including Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Infrastructure, Real User Monitoring (RUM), Synthetics, and custom integrations. The engineer is tasked with ensuring that services and components meet and continue to meet all agreed performance targets and service levels. Additionally, the role involves progressing and maintaining automation in business use cases and technology incident management, managing and monitoring cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring security and compliance, and collaborating with other teams. The engineer also maintains support processes, identifies issues, and resolves problems related to applications and infrastructure. In this position, the engineer plans and implements service request work and plays a significant role in delegating responsibilities. The work is often self-initiated and conducted under broad direction, with full accountability for meeting allocated technical objectives. The engineer establishes milestones for project-related work and makes decisions that impact the success of projects and team objectives. They analyze, design, plan, execute, and evaluate work to meet time, cost, and quality targets. The engineer investigates and resolves complex problems requiring an understanding of the relationship between their specialization and wider organizational requirements, influencing customers, suppliers, partners, and peers on the contributions of their specialization. They perform a wide range of complex technical or professional work activities, applying fundamental IT principles in various contexts. The engineer maintains an awareness of industry developments, takes the initiative to keep skills up to date, and mentors colleagues while following best practices for developing and maintaining secure systems. Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities may be assigned by the manager.
