About the position

The Sr. Systems Engineer position is a contract role focused on implementing technical requirements and solutions for enterprise applications. The role requires a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently while troubleshooting and maintaining systems across various environments. The position is primarily onsite, with a travel requirement of up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Implement technical requirements and solutions
• Perform configuration and maintenance of applications and servers
• Maintain system documentation
• Support enterprise application performance management, monitoring and logging solutions
• Troubleshoot and support systems and applications across on-premise and physical environments

Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in systems engineering or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in infrastructure engineering
• Critical thinking and analysis skills
• Strong sense of ownership
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and determine root cause with minimal assistance
• Ability to create solutions and implement them with minimal assistance
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Windows Server 2019
• Proficiency in Powershell, BASH, or similar scripting languages
• Familiarity with server virtualization technologies (VMware ESX Server, Citrix XenApp Server, Microsoft Hyper-V)
• Experience with system monitoring tools (Dynatrace or others)
• Knowledge of SSL technologies (https, sftp, SSH, TLS, etc.)
• Experience in the airline industry
