About the position

As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer at Comcast, you will play a pivotal role in the technical planning and requirements creation for the integration and deployment of complex enterprise systems. Your responsibilities will include the creation and documentation of system configurations and guidelines, as well as the organization and distribution of documentation necessary to support an end-to-end integrated solution architecture. You will be tasked with planning, coordinating, developing, and supervising all requirements related to the integration of both internal and external applications. This role requires you to support integration systems by defining the use of APIs, message formats, data mappings, and orchestrating the flow of information between systems. Additionally, you will support lab and field trial deployments to ensure the validation of the end-to-end integrated solution. In this position, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify technical requirements and conduct analyses to determine integration needs. You will design requirements that facilitate integration and data exchange between existing systems and newly developed adaptation systems, as well as between developed adaptation systems and customer-specific systems. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and documenting guidelines for customer systems to successfully integrate with these newly developed adaptation systems. You will also be responsible for the creation and tracking of complex configurations for end-to-end solution integration, as well as the development of traceability for integrated solution documentation. Keeping current with technological developments within the industry is essential, as you will monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products. You will provide technical leadership throughout the design process, offering guidance on practices, procedures, and techniques. Your role will also involve assisting in tracking and evaluating performance metrics, ensuring that the team delivers requirements and documentation on time, to specification, and within budget. You will assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution of integrated systems, while effectively communicating project status to various levels of management. Your expertise in engineering methodologies, process design, and redesign skills will be vital as you present and defend architectural, design, and technical requirements to both internal audiences and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in cable/telecommunications industry.
  • Understanding of key networking protocols and technologies - DOCSIS, HTTP/S, TCP, UDP.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous messaging, and network protocols.
  • Familiarity with data serialization formats like XML, JSON.
  • Familiarity with advanced software technologies and environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively with a strong bias for architecting at scale.
