About the position

The Sr. Systems Software Engineer role involves leading software development projects, resolving software issues, and enhancing applications. This position requires a strong technical background in various integration tools and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment while providing 24x7 support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Participates in development of software applications.
  • Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on the development team.
  • Acts as team leader on projects.
  • Uses application programming interfaces in X12/EDI, WTX, ITX, Mercator, and Data Stage integration tools.
  • Utilizes low-code/no-code business process modeling notation (BPMN) tools.
  • Performs agile and hybrid low-code application development.
  • Works as part of a team and provides 24x7 support when/if required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in a related field (Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Programming, etc.).
  • 5-10 years of experience with strong technical knowledge of Websphere Transformation Extender (WTX or ITX), Mercator, Data Stage, Web Methods, or other ETL tools.
  • Experience with Unix or Linux systems.
  • Experience with EDI Integration Tools.
  • Ability to deliver solutions that meet the identified acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Security + Certification is required, but not mandatory upfront if the candidate is willing and capable.
  • Ability to be hands-on in this role to develop professional documentation and other written materials.
  • Considerable experience in requirements analysis, testing, and documentation.
  • Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at the time of proposal submission.
  • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IATM Level II and relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in environments with rigorous change/configuration management processes.
