About the position

The Sr. Systems Software Integration and Test Engineer is responsible for planning and executing integration and test activities for complex software and hardware subsystems. This role involves defining integration plans, developing test requirements, writing procedures, and conducting tests to ensure the validity and integrity of the systems. The engineer will participate in readiness reviews, design reviews, and audits, utilizing their extensive knowledge in integration and test engineering to resolve issues and ensure successful program execution.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform Integration & Test (I&T) activities for complex software and hardware subsystems.
  • Define integration plans and sequences relative to the systems being tested.
  • Develop test requirements and write I&T procedures and reports.
  • Conduct tests and collaborate with others to establish language, database, and simulation requirements.
  • Participate in I&T readiness reviews and design reviews.
  • Conduct audits of I&T programs and facilities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of demonstrated engineering experience with a proven track record.
  • Integration/Test engineering experience on a software development contract.
  • Experience preparing and executing Integration/Test procedures.
  • Experience with test script or automation development.
  • Experience utilizing discrepancy report systems.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with systems engineering principles and activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment.
  • Experience with ground station satellite domains such as command and telemetry, flight dynamics, or mission planning.
  • Scripting experience in Python, Perl, or CECIL.
  • Test Automation experience with tools like Eggplant, Cucumber, or Gherkin.
  • Experience in an Agile or DevOps development environment.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
