About the position

The Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist at Johns Hopkins University is responsible for managing the full life cycle recruiting process to attract and hire top talent for various positions within the Center for Talented Youth (CTY). This role involves collaborating with hiring managers, utilizing applicant tracking systems, and ensuring a positive candidate experience while supporting the organization's mission to serve academically advanced K-12 students.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full life cycle recruiting including screening, interviewing, and extending job offers.
  • Identify top talent and convert prospects to active candidates.
  • Manage requisition processes, including posting positions and tracking candidate status.
  • Partner with the CTY Sourcing team to build a robust talent pipeline.
  • Conduct an average of 20 interviews per week and make hiring decisions.
  • Develop interview protocols to eliminate bias and ensure equal opportunity.
  • Determine and calculate salary offers in compliance with University guidelines.
  • Cultivate effective partnerships with CTY leaders and hiring managers.
  • Proactively follow up with candidates to enhance their experience.
  • Consult with CTY HR and University central HR to meet talent acquisition needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Three years of related experience in talent acquisition or recruitment.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and CRM tools.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least two years of experience in high volume, fast-paced staffing or corporate recruiting.
  • Familiarity with employment law related to pre-employment screening and OFCCP regulations.
  • Experience with Success Factors and/or Smartsheet.
