About the position

The Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist at Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth is responsible for managing the full life cycle of recruitment for various positions, including K-12 teachers and administrative staff. This role emphasizes building strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience, and maintaining a high volume of recruitment efforts. The ideal candidate is organized, systematic, and passionate about connecting with candidates and stakeholders to fulfill the organization's mission of supporting academically advanced students.

Responsibilities

  • Identify top talent and convert prospects to active candidates.
  • Conduct screening and interviewing efforts to support high-volume hiring.
  • Manage all aspects of the requisition process, including posting positions and tracking candidate status.
  • Partner with the CTY Sourcing team to build a robust talent pipeline.
  • Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates, making hiring decisions and extending offers.
  • Assist in developing interview protocols to eliminate bias.
  • Determine and calculate salary offers in compliance with University guidelines.
  • Manage multiple requisitions and update candidate pipeline progress in the applicant tracking system.
  • Cultivate effective business partnerships with CTY leaders and hiring managers.
  • Establish regular communications with hiring managers to discuss recruiting processes and candidate quality.
  • Proactively follow up with candidates to ensure understanding of the hiring process and deliver an excellent candidate experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Three years of related experience in talent acquisition or recruitment.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and CRM tools.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Track record of performing well against talent acquisition metrics.
  • Experience in high volume, fast-paced staffing or corporate recruiting.
  • Familiarity with employment law related to pre-employment screening.
