About the position

As a Sr. Tax Accountant - Income Tax at Spectrum, you will play a crucial role in the Corporate Tax team, which is dedicated to leveraging innovative tax technology to enhance compliance, planning, and provisions across the organization. Your work will directly impact the company's ability to maintain continuous connectivity for its customers while navigating the complexities of tax regulations. In this position, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax compliance for multiple entities. This includes analyzing and interpreting tax laws and regulations that affect compliance, acquisitions, dispositions, and other corporate and partnership taxation matters. You will also provide tax analysis to support various internal and external projects, including valuations and financing activities. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that Spectrum's business operations are accurately represented in compliance with tax regulations, thereby empowering leadership to make informed decisions. The role requires a proactive approach to simplifying and enhancing the customer experience, as well as a commitment to teamwork and collaboration with members of the tax and accounting departments. You will compile executive reporting for tax purposes and assist with FAS 109 calculations and FIN 48 analysis. Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax compliance for multiple entities.
  • Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations impacting tax compliance, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Provide tax analysis to support valuations, financings, and various internal or external projects.
  • Accumulate, analyze, and process financial accounting data to prepare tax returns.
  • Research, interpret, and apply tax laws and regulations for federal and state compliance.
  • Analyze and evaluate tax implications of potential investments, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Coordinate and communicate with members of the tax and accounting departments.
  • Compile executive reporting for tax purposes as required.
  • Assist with FAS 109 calculations and conduct FIN 48 analysis.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of business tax return preparation and review experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Proficiency in personal computer and software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.).
  • Superior Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of tax return preparation software.
  • Ability to research and resolve technical tax issues.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Knowledge of accounting theory and financial statement presentation.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively perform as part of a team committed to common objectives.
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected or changing conditions.
