About the position

SWBC is seeking a talented individual to manage their own work schedule as an individual contributor that works closely with the corporate tax manager and VP Taxation. This individual accepts an active role developing working relationships both within and outside of the department. It is also responsible for quick turnaround and/or change of daily work assignments and schedules. This role works in a deadline driven atmosphere requiring a high-level of accuracy and productivity. This individual researches thoroughly and prepares well-written conclusions regarding tax implications of business transactions. You will love this role because you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging tax projects in a strong team environment. Our department focuses on corporate tax accounting and compliance work, and you will be able to develop your skill set working on Federal, State and local tax assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares federal and state income tax returns for statutory compliance with consolidated, combined, and separate reporting principles; for corporate, exempt, and pass-through entities.
  • Analyzes and prepares quarterly and annual federal and state provision for consolidated group of diversified entities.
  • Responsible for critical analysis of business transactions and recommendations for tax treatment.
  • Responsible for critical analysis of general ledger entries and intercompany transaction for proper tax presentation.
  • Performs tax research.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or four-year university required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in federal, state, and local tax preparation and accounting required.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Working knowledge in automated sales management tools, preferably SalesForce.com preferred.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a high degree of technical skills and be highly motivated with a desire to excel and get things done through others.
  • Able to use basic office equipment, including copy machine, personal computer, and fax.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
