About the position
The Sr Tax Consultant role at Robert Half involves assisting with various tax-related tasks, including sales tax returns, property taxes, tax audits, and tax provision and return preparation. This position is a short-term contract opportunity based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, aimed at providing support in managing tax compliance and audits.
Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly sales tax returns and property tax payments
- Support with ongoing sales tax audits, working closely with state auditors
- Contribute to federal, state, and foreign taxes with external Big 4
- Assist with annual tax provision, return preparation, review, and filings
- Handle quarterly tax estimates and ensure timely PPT and RET renditions and payments
- Ensure timely sales and use tax filings and payments
- Record monthly Journal Entries and reconcile monthly prepaid tax and liability accounts
- Coordinate all tax audits and provide support for W-9 requests
- Support vendor sales and use tax exemption certificates and other tax-related requests
- Utilize software tools such as Oracle, Vertex, Avalara, and Anybill for various tax operations.
Requirements
- Possession of a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of taxation.
- Proficiency in the use of CaseWare software.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in various accounting functions.
- Experience with the preparation of annual income tax provisions.
- Proficiency in auditing procedures and practices.
- Strong knowledge of compliance regulations and standards.
- Experience with Vertex Sales & Use Tax software.
- Familiarity with the use of Avalara tax software.
- Experience in managing tax liabilities.
- Proficiency in the management of prepaids.
- Experience in using Oracle software.
- Ability to prepare and manage monthly journal entries.
