About the position

The Sr Tech Infra Program Manager in Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging at Amazon plays a crucial role in enhancing the deployment of technology solutions at scale. This position focuses on driving design and operational changes to improve the efficiency and quality of technology deployment, ensuring that new systems are integrated seamlessly into existing operations. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, project management skills, and a strong understanding of automation and mechatronics technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive design and operational changes to improve technology deployment at scale.
  • Manage all aspects of project management including deliverables, budget adherence, and scope management.
  • Collaborate with software teams to simplify technical processes and recommend feature changes.
  • Utilize industry best practices in Design For Excellence (Dfx) to provide design requirements for equipment installation.
  • Conceive, develop, and execute field tests to verify deployment rate improvement solutions.
  • Define tactical planning for complex cross-functional projects with significant impact.
  • Utilize simulation models to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor technology deployment processes for defects and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Assist in augmenting traditional assembly methods with advanced inspection capabilities.
  • Communicate program level reports to director level leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams and coordinating release schedules.
  • 6+ years of experience with design and installation planning for automated material handling equipment.
  • 6+ years of product development experience with leadership in design and assembly reviews.
  • 6+ years of experience with project management tools (PPM, Clarity, Microsoft Project or Jira).
  • 6+ years of experience with 2D and 3D CAD/CAE modeling tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
  • Ability to travel up to 75% for deployment projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • 8+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 5+ years of familiarity with industrial controls (PLC programming, TCP/IP networking, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience owning program strategy and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering and design for reliability best practices.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience equivalent to Green Belt level.
  • Experience with computational packages for simulation and optimization (e.g., MATLAB, FlexSim).
  • PMP Certification.
