About the position

The Sr. Technical Account Manager (TAM) for the Department of Defense at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for providing technical guidance and advocacy to customers, ensuring they derive maximum value from AWS services. This role focuses on building strong relationships with clients, understanding their operational needs, and driving the adoption of AWS technologies across various domains. The TAM acts as the principal technical advisor, facilitating discussions with senior leadership and managing incidents, support, and risk effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Plan and build solutions using AWS best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business and technical challenges.
  • Represent AWS within customer environments and drive discussions with senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of design/implementation/operations/consulting with distributed applications experience.
  • 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant certifications (CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP).
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
