About the position
The Sr. Technical Account Manager for National Security at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a pivotal role focused on providing technical guidance and advocacy to customers in the national security sector. This position is not a sales role but rather serves as the principal technical advisor, helping customers leverage AWS services to meet their operational needs and drive innovation. The role involves crafting strategies for AWS service adoption, maintaining operational health of customer environments, and engaging with senior leadership on technical discussions.
Responsibilities
- Act as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for AWS National Security customers.
- Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption of AWS services.
- Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
- Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
- Engage in discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.
- Understand customers' business and operational needs to help them achieve value from AWS.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical engineering experience in areas such as Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, AI/ML, DevOps, Big Data, and Security.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, or 5 years of equivalent work experience.
- Experience as a technical lead in internal enterprise or external customer-facing roles.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Nice-to-haves
- 7+ years of technical engineering experience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for multiple technical areas.
- Experience in Information Technology operations.
- Strong professional oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
- Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
