About the position

The Sr. Technical Account Manager at AWS National Security is responsible for supporting customers in maximizing the value and service they receive from AWS. This role is not sales-focused but serves as the principal technical advisor, helping customers adopt and utilize AWS services effectively. The position involves crafting strategies, providing technical guidance, and maintaining operational health of customer environments, while also fostering strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for AWS National Security customers.
  • Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business and technical challenges.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of design/implementation/operations/consulting with distributed applications experience.
  • 5+ years of technical engineering experience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for three or more of the following: Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data and Analytics, Security, Applications Development in a distributed systems environment.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Bachelor's degree, or CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, or CSSLP certification.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7+ years of technical engineering experience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for three or more of the following: Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data and Analytics, Security, Applications Development in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, presenting to an audience containing one or more decision maker(s).
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings Federal/DoD Clearances.
