About the position

The Sr. Technical Product Manager, Video Product at Comcast is responsible for overseeing the Xumo video streaming workflow, which includes real-time ingestion and broadcast of live streams, video encoding, ad insertion, CDN integration, and cloud video infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of modern streaming technologies and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the video playback experience across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the video playback experience for Xumo Play and Xumo Enterprise distribution platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class products that enhance customer viewing experiences.
  • Generate product strategy and execution to drive the success of streaming services from signal acquisition to monetization.
  • Partner with Video Engineering to create and maintain the Video Engineering and Product roadmap.
  • Communicate with external Content Partners regarding video streaming architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Supervise budget and costs associated with video infrastructure.
  • Provide video operation support, including replication and deployment of key video services.
  • Build and supervise new virtual Xumo NOC and monitoring systems.
  • Take ownership of the product development process from ideation to launch, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Use data and analytics to inform product decisions and improve the video playback experience.
  • Stay updated with technology developments to leverage new technologies in the video infrastructure stack.
  • Communicate product updates to key stakeholders and solicit feedback for improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
  • Work non-traditional hours for critical global events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in video product management or related areas.
  • Deep knowledge of modern streaming technologies and streaming protocols.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud video infrastructure development.
  • Familiarity with video encoding and transcoding processes.
  • Knowledge of monetization strategies for streaming services.
