About the position

As a Senior Technical Product Manager for Data & Analytics at Brightree, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and enhancing our cloud-based patient management software. This position is not just about managing products; it's about understanding the needs of our customers and translating those needs into actionable software requirements. You will collaborate closely with customers, developers, and various stakeholders to create specifications and designs for new products, as well as improvements and enhancements to existing products. Your ability to define customer needs and translate them into user stories that software engineers can understand will be crucial in ensuring that our products align with business objectives. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for managing the product backlog, ensuring that priorities align with the product vision set by the Product Manager. You will conduct user story reviews with the development team to ensure that completed features meet the defined requirements. Additionally, you will assist in user interface design and participate in Sprint Planning, providing clarity to the development team on user stories. Your expertise will also be needed in troubleshooting production-related customer issues and generating product documentation, release notes, and customer education materials. Effective change management processes will be essential as you navigate changes to requirements or scope creep throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities

  • Create specifications and designs for new products or improvements and enhancements to existing products.
  • Work closely with customers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand and define customer needs in designs.
  • Translate business needs into user stories that software engineers can understand.
  • Ensure product backlog priorities align with product vision and priorities defined by the Product Manager.
  • Conduct user story reviews with the development team to ensure correct interpretation of requirements.
  • Assist in user interface design of software products.
  • Conduct Sprint Planning and answer questions from the development team regarding user stories.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of production-related customer issues as needed.
  • Review and assist with the generation of product documentation, release notes, and customer education deliverables.
  • Manage changes to requirements or scope creep through effective change management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Informatics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field of study and 5 years of progressive experience in Business Analytics in a software company.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Informatics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field of study and 2 years of experience in Business Analytics in a software company in lieu of a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of progressive experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and interviewing customers and stakeholders to identify detailed system requirements information.
  • Experience understanding and interpreting customer and stakeholder responses and translating them into software requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead requirements and user story development sessions.
  • Experience managing multiple software development priorities across various cross-functional teams, resolving barriers to progress among project stakeholders.
  • Ability to evaluate business and technical requirements, decompose requirements into lower-level details, and distinguish business needs from proposed implementations or user requests.
  • Familiarity with web-based software technologies in a Microsoft environment (such as MSFT Azure, MSFT Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps or related).
