About The Position

The Sr. Technical Product Manager for Video Product at Xumo will oversee various aspects of the video streaming workflow, including real-time ingestion, encoding, and CDN integration. This role is pivotal in enhancing the video playback experience across Xumo's platforms, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams and a deep understanding of modern streaming technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technology-related fields such as Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in planning, designing, developing, and delivering consumer software experiences.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in product/software development with OTT video streaming technologies (HLS/DASH/DRM).
  • Excellent communication skills for leading meetings and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience in launching/scaling products.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in agile development/project methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, Technology, or related field.
  • Experience in video processing technologies and content delivery networking.
  • Experience with AWS Media Services and related infrastructure.
  • Experience with Content Management and/or Asset Management Systems.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL queries.
  • Proficiency with Jira or similar product management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the video playback experience for Xumo Play and Xumo Enterprise distribution platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class products that enhance customer viewing experiences.
  • Generate product strategy and execution to drive the success of streaming services from signal acquisition to monetization.
  • Partner with Video Engineering to create and maintain the Video Engineering and Product roadmap.
  • Communicate with external Content Partners regarding video streaming architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Supervise budget and costs associated with video infrastructure and operations support.
  • Build and supervise new virtual Xumo NOC and monitoring systems.
  • Take ownership of the product development process from ideation to launch, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Use data and analytics to inform product decisions and improve the video playback experience.
  • Communicate product updates to key stakeholders and solicit feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences, sharing insights on FAST content delivery.
