About the position

As a Senior Technical Product Manager at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cybersecurity by managing and enhancing our Cloud Attack Defends Lab. This lab serves as a critical testing environment where you will evaluate the features of our products against various cloud attack vectors. Your responsibilities will include researching and simulating real-world attacks to continuously improve the defenses of our cloud-based solutions. You will be expected to have extensive experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, AWS Fargate, Docker, Kubernetes, and other cloud services. In this role, you will design, set up, and maintain a secure and scalable cloud-based attack-defend lab environment. You will deploy and configure various cloud services and security tools for testing and analysis, ensuring that the lab environment is always up-to-date with the latest security patches and best practices. Your research will involve analyzing the competitive landscape in container and serverless security, formulating competitive strategies, and articulating key differentiators for our products. You will also identify vulnerabilities and potential security risks, working closely with product managers to influence the product roadmap. Your impact will extend to participating in sales enablement, helping the sales team close deals by providing technical differentiators. Staying updated with the latest cloud computing trends, security threats, and industry developments will be crucial. You will research cloud service providers' features and security mechanisms to enhance our products' security posture and propose innovative security measures to strengthen our cloud-based solutions. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, set up, and maintain a secure and scalable cloud-based attack-defend lab environment
  • Deploy and configure various cloud services and security tools for testing and analysis purposes
  • Ensure the lab environment is up-to-date with the latest security patches and best practices
  • Research the competitive landscape in Container and serverless security, formulate competitive strategy, and articulate key differentiation
  • Identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and potential security risks
  • Work closely with Product managers and influence the roadmap
  • Participate in sales enablement and help sales close deals by providing technical differentiators
  • Stay updated with the latest cloud computing trends, security threats, and industry developments
  • Research cloud service providers' features, use cases, and security mechanisms to enhance our products' security posture
  • Propose and implement innovative security measures to strengthen our cloud-based solutions
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience in cloud technologies, particularly AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, AWS Fargate, Docker, Kubernetes, and other cloud services
  • Ability to create automation using Terraform, python, or any scripting language of choice
  • Communicate technical concepts and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • BE/Btech/MCA or equivalent technical degree or equivalent military experience required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in product security
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining secure cloud environments - AWS OR Azure OR GCP
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, AWS Fargate, Docker, Kubernetes, and other cloud services
  • Hands-on proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, bash, cloudformation, or Terraform) for automation
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of common cloud-based attack vectors and corresponding defensive techniques
  • Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security auditing
  • Security certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty or Azure Security Engineer Associate are a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
