About the position

As a Sr Technical Product Manager at Veracyte, you will play a crucial role in aligning technical systems with business objectives for cloud-based diagnostics products. This position involves managing the requirements gathering process, converting business requirements into technical specifications, and ensuring stakeholder alignment. You will collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and product teams to lead innovative projects that significantly impact cancer diagnostics. This role is situated in a dynamic, mission-driven environment focused on healthcare innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product roadmap for cloud-based diagnostics products, leveraging AWS services.
  • Work with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, operations, and clinical teams to gather requirements and define product features.
  • Ensure compliance of AWS-based solutions with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Facilitate the product lifecycle from concept to launch, managing timelines and deliverables.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and prioritize features.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in Technical Product Management or similar role with a focus on cloud-based platforms in healthcare, or 10+ years with a master's degree.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, SNS, SQS, KMS, and other cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of cloud security and compliance in healthcare, especially around data encryption, HIPAA, and GDPR.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AI/ML models in diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of serverless architectures and experience with microservices.
  • Familiarity with data integration and interoperability standards in healthcare (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
