About the position

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are seeking an experienced Technical Product Marketing Manager who is passionate about understanding customer needs and translating them into compelling product strategies. In this role, you will work closely with customers to identify their cloud requirements and synthesize data from various sources, including industry analysis and insights from analysts and influencers. Your goal will be to create broad, portfolio-level value propositions that simplify the understanding of how cloud technology can be applied in businesses for high impact. As a Technical Product Marketing Manager, you will leverage your deep experience as a technologist to connect the dots between different AWS capabilities and services. You will collaborate with AWS Product Managers to ensure that we are building and marketing the right portfolios of offerings that meet and exceed customer expectations. Your responsibilities will include guiding feature prioritization, ensuring consistency across services, and developing clear and differentiated messaging at the portfolio level. AWS is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 200 fully featured services from data centers globally. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of services and capabilities, including Analytics, Developer Tools, Compute, Databases, Generative AI, Observability, and Security, based on your experience and interests. We are looking for builders who thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineering teams to influence product outcomes and educate customers on the value of technology. This position is preferred to be based in Seattle, WA, but we are open to candidates in other locations such as Arlington, VA; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; and Santa Clara, CA. Relocation assistance is available for candidates moving from within the US to these locations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering and product management to develop portfolio-level strategy documents to guide prioritization of AWS offerings and capabilities we build
  • Create positioning and messaging artifacts that will represent our offerings at a portfolio level
  • Analyze and synthesize 1st and 3rd party data to define opportunities for our offerings
  • Act as an advocate for customers within AWS during the product development process
  • Generate content artifacts (presentations, demos, etc.) to educate customers on our offerings
  • Work closely with other AWS teams to ensure value propositions are articulated broadly and clearly
  • Open to some travel (up to 15%)

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience working directly with customers on adoption of cloud-based products and services
  • 7+ years working knowledge of cloud-based architectures in one or more technical domains (e.g. Analytics, Developer Tools, Compute, Databases, Generative AI, Observability, Security)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field or equivalent experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations, and with executives
  • Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS or other cloud platforms
  • A passion for learning and for helping others to learn
  • Hands-on experience with AWS
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification
  • Prior Technical Product Marketing experience
  • MBA degree
