About the position

The Senior Technical Program Manager for Amazon Email Services (AmazES) Perimeter Security team will lead the email engineering team, managing complex technical projects from inception to completion. This role requires a strong technical background in email systems and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of email products and features. The position involves working on both legacy and future products, defining processes for improved execution, and championing engineering best practices in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with email engineering team to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize product and feature requirements.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Manage project risks and proactively identify and resolve issues that impact project delivery.
• Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement of the email engineering process and best practices.
• Develop and mentor team members to achieve their full potential.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
• 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
• Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering
• Strong technical background in email systems, including SMTP, DNS, and email delivery.
