About the position

The Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Amazon Fleet Observers (AFO) is responsible for leading complex technical programs that enhance digital employee experience, improve security visibility, and reduce operational costs through AWS-hosted services. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, program management skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful program execution and alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive program plans, roadmaps, and strategies while identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating decision-making processes and ensuring alignment.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team productivity and program delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide technical guidance and contribute to architectural decisions based on a strong technical background.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
