About the position

The Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Amazon Sales Recommendations & Insights will be responsible for scoping and delivering large, high-impact projects that enhance the effectiveness of the Amazon Advertising Sales team. This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from gathering requirements to production launch, while coordinating efforts across various internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in program management, capable of navigating complex projects and driving strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own successful delivery of large, high impact and highly cross-functional product initiatives while simultaneously and accurately tracking a set of smaller projects
• Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely partnering with product managers and engineering leads to develop program plans that include roadmaps, dependency identifications, and resourcing plans
• Ascertain the true requirements underlying feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and help engineering efforts meet aggressive timelines
• Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on short and long term plans, program updates, and critical issues
• Refine existing and build new mechanisms to optimize the output and collaboration within the team and with partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
• 3+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
• Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
