About the position

The Sr. Technical Program Manager will lead the delivery of high-impact, cross-functional product initiatives within the Amazon Foundational People Data Services (FPDS) organization. This role involves managing multiple concurrent projects, collaborating with product managers and engineering teams, and ensuring the successful execution of large-scale initiatives that enhance human resource processes for nearly 3 million employees globally. The position emphasizes mentorship, career growth, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance while driving innovative solutions in cloud computing.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the seamless delivery of large-scale, highly cross-functional product initiatives while meticulously tracking and managing a portfolio of smaller projects simultaneously.
  • Drive strategic cross-functional planning by collaborating closely with product managers and engineering leads.
  • Lead the discovery and prioritization processes, developing comprehensive program plans encompassing roadmaps, dependency mapping, and resource allocation.
  • Critically analyze feature requests to uncover the underlying true requirements and recommend alternative technical approaches.
  • Communicate plans, statuses, and critical updates to executive management with clarity and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
