Sr. Technical Program Manager, Hardware Engineering, Archival Storage

The ideal TPM candidate will be an experienced program manager who is skilled in managing hardware product development teams across several geographic regions using a variety of suppliers. Having a track record of successful hardware launches for data center products is critical for this role. The successful candidate will be an innovative self-starter and leader. The candidate will be familiar with the cloud computing industry and AWS offerings and will be passionate about providing the best possible customer experience at the best cost. The candidate will have an obsession with data and precise analysis and will use these as inputs to make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware product development programs and operational reviews in a highly cross-functional environment.
• Provide leadership in the application of new technologies to large scale server deployments.
• Work closely with customers to understand their short and long term business goals and product needs.
• Drive and coordinate the efforts of an interdisciplinary team across hardware design, component development, firmware, test, and qualification.
• Develop, deploy at scale, and provide ongoing operational support for the servers delivered.
• Continuously look for ways to improve products' performance, quality, and cost.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience.
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
• 3+ years of hardware development experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
• Experience in working with overseas CM/OEM/ODM vendors in product development.
• Strong knowledge of compute or storage server architecture and design for large scale applications.
