About the position

The Sr. Technical Program Manager for Amazon Prime is a pivotal role within a cross-functional team responsible for leading large technology initiatives that enhance customer experience and drive business goals. This position involves collaborating with various software and business teams to deliver high-impact projects, ensuring that the solutions align with Amazon's strategic objectives. The role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of Amazon Prime by leveraging a wide array of technologies and fostering relationships across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Be a guardian of world-class customer experience for deliverables, continually raising the bar on functionality, flow, consistency, usability, and simplicity.
  • Act as the interface between product owners and the development team, thoroughly understanding the product, defining user stories, and evaluating appropriate technical solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Own engagement with partners, decompose requirements into technical execution plans with multiple development teams, track progress towards goals, and report status to product, business development, and technical leadership.
  • Make informed feature trade-offs to ship software without compromising customer experience and business relevance.
  • Engage with various teams in the company, evangelizing the team and project, building relationships, and identifying existing components and technologies to leverage for goal achievement.
  • Represent the technical team to senior leadership across the company.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
