About the position

The Sr. Staff TPM - Product Development position is a critical role within a fast-growing company that specializes in providing hyperscale cloud instances to large technology firms. This position is responsible for leading the management and execution of server platform programs throughout the entire product lifecycle. The successful candidate will drive design and development activities from the initial product definition and planning stages through to production, release, and eventual end-of-life phases. This role requires a deep understanding of server platform development and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure successful product delivery. In this role, the Sr. Staff TPM will work closely with the Marketing and Architecture teams to translate product specifications into actionable program deliverables. The individual will lead cross-functional teams to develop and introduce products on schedule, ensuring that all product specifications are met. A key responsibility will be to lead requirement definition planning, development, and launch processes, while also interacting with sales teams to communicate organizational information, strategies, and capabilities effectively. The position also involves managing the execution of engineering solutions, which encompass various components such as Printed Circuit Boards, Mechanical, Power, OS, Firmware, BIOS, Solution Software, Testing, Diagnostics, and the management of associated vendors. The Sr. Staff TPM will ensure that all designs are manufacturable, reliable, and serviceable, leading weekly program core team meetings to communicate updates, track progress, and ensure that the program is on track to meet upcoming milestones. Identifying and communicating program risks to stakeholders, defining risk mitigation strategies, and facilitating appropriate hardware and software engineering solutions are also essential aspects of this role. Additionally, maintaining comprehensive documentation throughout the development cycle and disseminating project information to stakeholders, customers, and partners is crucial for success in this position. The Sr. Staff TPM will also support engineering and configuration management teams in managing the Bill of Materials (BOM) through various lifecycle stages, including preliminary, prototype, pre-production, and production phases.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Marketing and Architecture teams to translate product specifications into program deliverables.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and introduce products on schedule based on product specifications.
  • Lead requirement definition planning, development, and launch.
  • Interact with sales to communicate organizational information, strategies, and capabilities.
  • Manage the execution of engineering solutions, including Printed Circuit Boards, Mechanical, Power, OS, Firmware, BIOS, Solution Software, Testing, Diagnostics, and management of associated vendors.
  • Ensure the manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of designs.
  • Lead weekly program core team meetings with cross-functional teams to communicate updates, track progress, and ensure that the program is on track to meet upcoming milestones.
  • Identify and communicate program risks to stakeholders, define risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate appropriate hardware & software engineering solutions.
  • Maintain documentation throughout the development cycle and disseminate project information to stakeholders, customers, and partners.
  • Support engineering and configuration management teams to take the BOM through the lifecycle of preliminary, prototype, pre-production, and production.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; Masters preferred.
  • Relevant experience in Server Platform development.
  • Good understanding of x-86 server system architecture.
  • Strong cross-functional team management skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptive communication style.
  • Understanding of system-level server platforms and how each component interacts with the system.
  • Strong project management skills in developing schedules and tracking to milestones.
