About the position

The Sr Technical Program Manager for Production Test at Amazon's Project Kuiper is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive test strategy to ensure sufficient testing capacity and scalability for the program's production demands. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to align on testing requirements and processes, driving the execution of manufacturing test systems, and optimizing testing methodologies to improve efficiency and throughput.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of Kuiper's manufacturing test systems to establish efficient and scalable testing processes.
  • Ensure that the testing infrastructure and resources support the program's production targets while maintaining high standards.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, testing operations, and capacity planning.
  • Develop innovative solutions to address capacity constraints and bottlenecks.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment within the Kuiper Satellite program through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize testing methodologies using data-driven insights and automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware/software testing.
  • 3+ years of experience in high-paced manufacturing or production environments.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams and coordinating a large portfolio of actions and projects.
  • Experience owning cross-functional program strategy and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • Experience influencing design, test procedures, and requirements to improve yield or throughput.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Master's degree in engineering (aerospace, aviation, computer science, electrical, electronics).
  • Experience in test engineering and/or working in aerospace or aviation industry.
  • Experience leading an operational team to increase throughput and drive operational excellence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence across the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
