About the position

The Sr. Technical Program Manager for Project Kuiper will lead efforts to develop and manage government communication systems utilizing Kuiper's Low Earth Orbit satellites. This role involves collaborating with technical and senior leadership to ensure high engineering standards, establishing project milestones, and managing supplier and partner deliverables. The position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication with executive management, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on U.S. Government customers.

Responsibilities

  • Define Project Kuiper's government communication systems for various users via Kuiper's Low Earth Orbit satellites.
  • Propose and drive improvements to the Kuiper program for government users.
  • Act as the point of contact for Kuiper Government Satellite Systems with external teams, partners, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate plans, status, and critical issues to executive management.
  • Document trade studies for intra-team review and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Establish subcontract management and vendor deliveries.
  • Organize regular project and team meetings, focusing on program milestones.
  • Develop, track, and communicate project schedules and achievements.
  • Drive engineering project execution, manage risks, and resolve blocking issues.
  • Work closely with partner organizations to develop work packages and ensure team success.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams and building processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 8+ years of project management experience including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
  • Experience defining KPIs/SLAs for multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
  • 8+ years of engineering leadership experience with aerospace or satellite technologies.
