About the position

The Sr Technical Project Manager for Infrastructure & Application Migrations will play a pivotal role in overseeing the migration of both infrastructure and applications from on-premises data centers to cloud environments, including private and public cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform. This position requires a deep understanding of both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and homegrown applications, ensuring that all migration projects are executed smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project communications, including the preparation of RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status reports, and will be expected to escalate issues to C-level executives, including the CIO and their direct reports, as necessary. In addition to technical expertise, the role demands strong change management skills, as the organization transitions to Agile and Kanban methodologies depending on project requirements. The Sr Technical Project Manager will utilize tools such as Jira and Clarity, along with the Microsoft Suite, to facilitate project tracking and reporting. The ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, is crucial, as the individual will frequently present project updates and findings to executive leadership. The role also involves managing project teams and collaborating with application owners to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the migration of infrastructure and applications from on-prem data centers to cloud environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing infrastructure and application migration projects to cloud environments.
• Strong change management skills to facilitate transitions to Agile and Kanban methodologies.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira and Clarity, as well as Microsoft Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in presenting to executive leadership.
• Ability to manage projects and teams effectively.

Nice-to-haves
