About the position

Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration skills to positively impact safe human spaceflight. In this role, you will support and continuously improve the execution of our risk, issue, and opportunity processes. You will work directly with engineering and program management teams to identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities and lead mitigation strategies and burndown plans. Responsibilities include managing the risk database, facilitating risk review boards, and coaching team members through the risk process. You must also possess a passion for improving metrics and reporting systems that provide risk process insight. Your work will enable New Glenn's successful development and operation of complex spaceflight hardware. Responsibilities

  • Support the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle.
  • Manage the risk database and facilitate risk review boards.
  • Coach team members through the risk process.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Lead mitigation strategies and burndown plans.
  • Continuously improve the execution of risk, issue, and opportunity processes.
  • Improve metrics and reporting systems that provide risk process insight.

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S. degree in engineering or technical field.
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Ability to assimilate technical engineering information quickly and summarize concisely.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies to mitigate risks to a program's technical requirements, assets, cost/schedule baselines, and safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results.
  • Highly adaptable in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment; able to thrive with ambiguity.
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical aptitude in support of enabling senior leadership to make informed, critical decisions.
  • Capability to obtain wide system and program knowledge to convey complex system dependencies and impacts.
  • Continual improvement mindset towards processes and tools.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Tableau.
  • 3+ years of direct Risk Management experience.
  • Involvement with multiple portions of an aerospace product life cycle: R&D, Development, Production.
  • Experience with aerospace vehicles or engines.
  • Experience with Primavera (P6), Doors Next Gen, CREO, Windchill, Microsoft Suite.
