About the position

The Senior Technical Trainer at Motorola Solutions is responsible for providing training and support to law enforcement agencies on the use of advanced technologies, particularly in the areas of vehicle and image intelligence. This role involves developing training materials, conducting training sessions, and serving as a subject matter expert in various law enforcement technologies. The position requires significant travel across the United States and aims to enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement through technology training and support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training materials and content for law enforcement personnel.
• Conduct onsite, virtual, and webinar training sessions for law enforcement agencies.
• Provide subject matter expertise during the deployment of technology systems or software.
• Testify in local and federal court as an expert witness when required.
• Proactively increase the usage of Motorola's software through effective training and support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience, either sworn or non-sworn.
• Familiarity with industry best practices and standards in criminal and investigative processes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex problems and concepts into training materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with CompStat or other crime reduction strategy programs.
• Investigative experience is preferred but not required.
• Practical experience with image comparison or facial recognition technology.
• Prior teaching or instructor experience.
• Working knowledge of business programs such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
