About the position

The Sr. Technology Coordinator at Loyola University Chicago is responsible for supporting the construction and management of electronic classrooms and conference rooms. This role involves identifying appropriate technology for learning spaces, coordinating the purchase and installation of equipment, and providing ongoing support and training for new systems. The coordinator also evaluates new educational technologies and assists with on-site support for events, ensuring that classroom technology meets the needs of the university community.

Responsibilities

• Identifies appropriate equipment for classrooms and conference rooms.
• Develops project timelines that include milestones and final deliverables.
• Works with other university departments and outside vendors to coordinate the purchase and installation of equipment packages.
• Oversees the hand-off of new spaces; creates documentation and delivers training.
• Maintains the back end infrastructure for classroom systems.
• Provides on-site support for VIP events.
• Assists with the general maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Evaluates new and emerging educational technologies; pilots when appropriate.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Digital Media, Computer Science, Education, or related field with at least five years of comparable work experience.
• Fluent in classroom technologies and comfortable working with computers.
• Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and results-focused with effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in project management, computers, multimedia, Crestron/Q-SYS programming is a plus.
• Experience with Sakai (or other LMS), Zoom, Panopto, and Top Hat is highly desired.
