About the position

The Sr. Test Automation API Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests in a fast-paced environment. This role requires advanced knowledge of automation test tools and strong hands-on experience in developing and executing test scripts. The successful candidate will work closely with business analysts to translate requirements into technical designs and will be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Test Automation Scripts and API components to automate business processes using Excel Macros, Visual Basic (VBA), UFT, and/or ALM.
• Work with business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Develop necessary functionality in Excel Macros, VBA, UFT, and/or ALM following the technical designs.
• Perform troubleshooting, triage issues, and address bugs in Production.
• Be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Develop scripts to perform data validation across all databases by importing data automatically from MySQL and/or Oracle databases.
• Write custom scripts to perform data analysis on the imported data.
• Develop automated scripts for API testing using SOAPUI/Postman and UI testing.

Requirements

• 7 years of hands-on Automation experience with VBA, UFT, and/or ALM.
• Expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and SQL.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Business analysis and requirements analysis experience.
• Provide user support and problem resolution.
• Maintain required documentation.
• Provide on-call support as required to support the production systems.
• Communicate project status, deliverables, priorities, problems, and contingencies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Agile software development environment.
• Familiarity with commonly used Agile backlog management tools and/or task-tracking tools such as VersionOne.
• Familiarity with version management concepts and tools.
• Proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools.
• Applying standard software development methodologies to successfully complete projects.
