The Sr. Test Equipment Engineer plays a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of cost-effective testing and troubleshooting methods for systems and equipment throughout all phases of product development and manufacturing. This position is particularly focused on supporting the integration and testing of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and their payloads. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, troubleshooting, and upgrading test equipment utilized in testing printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), sub-systems, and complete systems. In this role, the engineer will engage in C# and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) software development using Visual Studio IDE, and will also need to have experience with National Instruments (NI) TestStand and LabVIEW. The engineer will develop comprehensive test plans, requirements, specifications, and strategies, while also analyzing, processing, and formatting test results. The engineer will also be tasked with developing various power conversion devices, motor control systems, and avionics, guiding them from early design stages through to final testing and manufacturing support. Functional, performance, and environmental tests on avionics power and propulsion components will be executed, requiring the engineer to apply professional concepts and company objectives to creatively resolve complex issues. The role may also involve determining methods and procedures for new assignments and coordinating activities of other team members, potentially acting as a team lead. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
