The Sr. Test Program Integration Engineer plays a crucial role in our Test & Evaluation projects by designing and installing data collection systems. This position requires collaboration with both ground-based and airborne test platforms, acting as a technical contributor to ensure that the test instrumentation needs are met. The engineer will utilize creativity and engineering principles to design data acquisition and telemetry systems, including the selection of components and sensors. Responsibilities include procuring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading test instrumentation and telemetry systems based on specific requirements, as well as providing solutions to any manufacturing, assembly, and installation issues that may arise. In this role, you will work closely with project technical teams to gather and understand design requirements, create and maintain instrumentation parameter lists, and troubleshoot problematic components. You will also represent the Test & Evaluation group in briefings, manage vendor relationships, and provide technical support to manufacturing teams. This position may require up to 30% travel, both domestically and internationally, and involves additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Create and install data collection systems for Test & Evaluation projects.
  • Assist with both ground-based and airborne test platforms as a technical contributor.
  • Work closely with technical engineering teams to design systems that meet test instrumentation needs.
  • Design, procure, install, maintain, and upgrade test instrumentation and telemetry systems based on requirements.
  • Collect and understand project design requirements with project technical teams.
  • Provide solutions to manufacturing, assembly, and installation issues for data acquisition and telemetry systems.
  • Create and maintain test article instrumentation parameter lists for multiple projects.
  • Troubleshoot and repair problematic instrumentation and telemetry components.
  • Build, maintain, and report instrumentation squawk lists for parameters that cannot be fixed between tests.
  • Represent the Test & Evaluation group in pre- and post-test briefings, reporting on instrumentation and telemetry status.
  • Manage relationships with key material and component vendors.
  • Provide technical support to vendors and manufacturing teams.
  • Lead efforts to procure hardware to support group functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of test engineering field experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Proficiency with airborne data acquisition systems, e.g., Teletronics (TTC).
  • Proficiency with various types of transducers, signal conditioning, and data encoders.
  • Proficiency with telemetry systems, e.g., Quasonix.
  • Proficiency with flight test digital data recorders, e.g., Safran (formerly Zodiac/Heim).
  • Knowledge of data processing and storage methods and systems.
  • Knowledge of test methods and lab procedures.
  • Knowledge of Mil Standards and Digital Buses architecture (ARINC, 1553).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow-up.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints.
  • Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and MS Office Suite including MS Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using relational databases with some programming skills, SQL, VB, C++, and .NET preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in the fabrication and implementation of data acquisition and telemetry systems preferred.
