About the position

The Senior UX Researcher at PayPal plays a crucial role in understanding user needs and informing the creation of user-centered experiences. This position involves conducting various research methods to build trust and security in PayPal's products while enhancing the brand experience for users. The researcher will collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design decisions and ensure that customer insights are integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Identify research opportunities that inform product and design strategy.
• Independently execute research studies from beginning to end, including defining research questions and participant samples.
• Present compelling insights and recommendations to multiple teams and leaders.
• Understand how various research functions and data sources contribute to the product development lifecycle.
• Act as a liaison between design, product management, and marketing teams.
• Champion the voice of the customer in workshops and design sprints.
• Shape the Experience Design community by advocating for user-centric approaches and exploring best practices.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset by seeking feedback and experimenting with new approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4-5 years of experience or Master's degree with 3-4 years in user experience, design, research, or related fields.
• Experience across digital products and platforms, preferably in financial services or e-commerce.
• Proficiency in a variety of research methods including card sorting, tree tests, diary studies, and usability testing.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with financial services and e-commerce expertise.
• Familiarity with remote, field, and lab research settings.
