About the position
The Sr. UX Designer role at AWS focuses on enhancing the customer experience for AWS commerce and billing. This position involves deep research and service design to understand customer needs and pain points, leading to the creation of cohesive service maps and innovative design solutions. The designer will collaborate with various stakeholders to drive strategic investments and improve customer outcomes, ultimately owning the design for high-impact customer journeys.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer problems and design customer journey flows and solutions that deliver results.
- Own and lead cross-functional design brainstorm and review meetings with Product, Tech, Science, and business teams for input, alignment, and sign-off on design deliverables.
- Design customer journey flows and low, medium, and high-fidelity wireframes and mockups.
- Review and defend design recommendations to partners, stakeholders, and senior leadership for review, feedback, and approval.
- Provide design assets to development teams for implementation.
- Provide design clarification and consultation as needed to engineers when UX deliverables are being developed.
- Measure the success and effectiveness of UX innovations.
Requirements
- 6+ years of design experience
- An available online portfolio
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows
- Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
- Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
Nice-to-haves
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
