About the position

We're seeking an inventive and skilled Sr UX Designer to concept, prototype, develop, and test new-to-world products and experiences with novel interaction models and paradigms. This role will own key aspects of the user experience and is on a cross-functional special projects team, whose charter is to invent & bring to market transformational consumer products using advanced technologies. We're at the forefront of ambient computing, a new paradigm where technology is always present, interaction is intuitive, and it disappears when not in use. If you are excited about inventing the future of spatial computing and shipping your ideas to millions worldwide, we'd love to meet you. In this role, you will contribute across the product development process including product opportunity and use case analysis, workshop facilitation, and the creation of low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and detailed specs. You will become a domain expert through daily use of prototypes, competitive, and complementary products to develop a deep product intuition. Working directly with product management, you will identify opportunities and support product strategy through use case analysis and workshop facilitation. You will utilize design reviews and critiques to drive continuous improvement towards a minimal, polished, and delightful user experience. Additionally, you will research and understand the capabilities and limitations of advanced sensing, display, and generative AI technologies and their impact on the user experience. Driving qualitative user research to explore and validate product/design decisions will be key, as you regularly talk with customers, document insights, and champion features & improvements. You will provide real-time feedback to technical stakeholders by evaluating prototypes and internal builds to improve or simplify the design spec based on constraints or new information. Collaboration with teams across the entire Amazon Devices & Services organization will be essential to bring cross-functional features and services to life. Finally, you will own the presentation of your strategy and decisions to senior leadership and cross-functional partners, working within an integrated product management & CX team alongside hardware, engineering, ID, and other stakeholder teams to turn user stories into detailed product requirements, mockups, and prototypes.
