As a Senior UX Designer on Employee Journeys at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in creating, defining, and envisioning innovative experiences for Amazon's 2 million global and diverse employees. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the Joining, Manager, and administrative experiences. This position requires you to partner with research teams and potentially drive research initiatives yourself, while also providing design oversight for a pod of designers. You will regularly review designs and concepts with customers, cross-functional partners, executives, and stakeholders, ensuring that your design decisions are well-educated and backed by data and customer insights. In this role, you will manage your own work queue and demonstrate the ability to navigate difficult design limitations while advocating for the customer experience. You will collaborate closely with a team that includes UX Research and Design, Product, and Engineering to identify customer problems, influence priorities, set the North Star, plan work, execute design, ensure quality, evaluate outcomes, and iterate on solutions. We are seeking a highly determined, curious, and entrepreneurial UX Designer who can drive design strategy and mentor other designers within their scope of work. You will work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, executives, and UX leadership, as well as a passionate team of UX designers and researchers to improve employee interactions with their jobs and Amazon. Your responsibilities will include strategizing and designing elegant and intuitive experiences by understanding the intersection of customer needs, business requirements, and technical constraints. You will lead the planning and strategic phases of projects, proactively pitching new customer experience ideas supported by strong rationales. You will create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for mobile and web interfaces throughout the design process. Additionally, you will independently deliver UX solutions for complex problems, adapt your approach to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders, and champion user-centered design by partnering with researchers to test your solutions with users. Presenting your design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership, will also be a key part of your role. You will contribute to user experience design guidelines and development best practices at Amazon Design Community and mentor other designers directly.
